Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

Hosanna (save us from political oppression)
Jesus came for spiritual rescue, not political.
Rescue from sins, vices & evil thoughts.
The crowd turned on Jesus days later.
Crucify him!
They wanted a warrior on a war horse and got a suffering servant on a donkey instead.

T209 - Galatians

Galatians 4 - The GRACE of God saves us, not our works.

So you are no longer a slave,
but God's child;
and since you are his child,
God has made you also an heir.
Galatians 4:7 NIV

From slaves of the Mosiac Law
In the Old Testament, who live by the law.
To adopted children of God, COGs
To heirs of the Kingdom of God, KOG
KOG is here on earth,
In the New Testament, who live by grace.
JC died on the cross to redeem, to pay off our debts of sins, shame, regrets, mistakes and bad decisions.

T201 - Matthew

Heavenly Treasures

~ Matthew 6:19-21

Focus on serenity, not stuff that fades.
Cultivate inner peace, where true wealth is made.
Tune out the noise of negativity and strife,
Tune in to tranquility and find your inner life.

For in every square inch, a miracle awaits,
A world of wonder, where joy and peace create.
Discover the magic, in each passing day,
And let the beauty of life, drive the blues away.

Lilies in the Field

And why do you worry about clothes?
See how the flowers grow?
They do not labor.

Pray, Give God your Worries

The now, the present is God's gift to you.
Give your gifts to God, anything!

Anxiety, depression, financial worries,
Relationship issues, health problems,
Bad habits, patterns, routines, addictions.

The Almighty God can totally handle all that!

Guilt

The best way to deal with guilt is through prayer.
Talking with to a friend or family member can be too dangerous.
Talking to a therapist can be lengthy and costly.

Confess out loud to God in prayer when alone.
Confess to God because he forgives you and forgets all sins small and large.

When Jesus died, he covered all of humanity's sins, threw them in the deepest part of the sea, and put up a "No Fishing" sign.

Jesus died on the cross for forgiveness of sins for Christians.  Accept Jesus as your savior.  Jesus' atonement was once for all. He tore the veil.

t219 - Hebrews

Hebrews Overview

Hebrews Ch 1

Of the ANGELS, (Jesus) says: (Jesus) makes (Jesus') ANGELS winds and (Jesus') ministers a flame of fire. - Hebrews 1.7

Hebrews Ch 6

Hebrews 6.19 - An ANCHOR for the soul is symbolism for Jesus Christ.  The world is like a sea, with the church in it.  Every believer is like a sailing ship destined for that final port, heaven.

Hebrews Ch 7

Hebrews Ch 7.27 - Jesus' sacrifice, he died, ONCE FOR ALL. (Christians)

https://www.gotquestions.org/once-for-all.html

Hebrews Ch 8

The Old Testament vs the New Testament:

The Old Testament was a copy, a foreshadowing of things to come.

    Moses, Mosaic Law

    Tabernacle on Earth

    High Priests

The New Testament is about how Jesus changed the Mosaic Law and illuminated it.

Jesus died for our sins. We are forgiven (we = COGs, Children of God)

   Tabernacle in Heaven

Summary

Jesus died on the cross for forgiveness of sins for Christians.  Accept Jesus as your savior.  Jesus' atonement was once for all. He tore the veil.

This relates to Moses and the Jews in the wilderness for 40 years. They built a tent, the tabernacle, which foreshadowed the temple in Jerusalem, and the Kingdom of God in heaven.  Only the High Priest could go through the veil into the Holy of Holies once a year and give a sin offering. The Jews celebrate Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, to this day.  One remembers their sins and confesses them.

The Holy of Holies contained the Ark of the Covenant, which held the 10 Commandments.

Jesus is a High Priest. He tore the veil, for us to enter the Holy of Holies.  Our sins are forgotten and Jesus forgives us.

Best Way to Live - Eccl 5 - Selah

18-20 After looking at the way things are on this earth,
here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live:
Take care of yourself,
have a good time,
and make the most of whatever job you have
for as long as God gives you life.
And that’s about it.

That’s the human lot.
Yes, we should make the most of what God gives,
both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it,
accepting what’s given and delighting in the work.
It’s God’s gift!
God deals out joy in the present, the now.
It’s useless to brood over how long we might live.
